Faculty Senate

The policies posted contain tracked changes that have been approved by the Faculty Senate and the President and Provost. These policies will be entered into the next edition of the Faculty Handbook to be available approximately January 1, 2008.


S06-21: Faculty Conduct Policy Updates and Revisions - Contains changes to the faculty conduct policy resulting from feedback received from the five year review of the policy.


S07-5: Update of Protected Classes List - Changes were made to the protected classes lists found in Chapter 8 and Chapter 2 of the Faculty Handbook for consistency with protected classes lists in other university policies.


S07-6: The Faculty Handbook, Chapter 7 - The changes in these sections of chapter 7 were made following approval of the substantive changes resulting from the five year review of Chapter 7. The changes here are considered non-substantive and enhance clarity and consistency with the rest of Chapter 7.

 

S07-12: Faculty Handbook Chapters 3 and 5 Changes - Changes to the non-tenure eligible teaching policy provide more flexibility to lecturers and their departments regarding hiring and length of appointment.  Additionally, the new language clarifies criteria for lecturer advancement by defining the minimum level of employment and linking advancement to the PRS.  The Governance & Documents Committee has made nonsubstantive changes to the document.

 

S07-4: Class Attendance Policy, Chapter 10 - Changes to the class attendance policy include a re-ordering of the existing paragraphs to enhance internal logic and the addition of a link tot he university religious accommodation policy.

 

S06-22: Non-Tenure Eligible Research Faculty - These new sections of the Faculty Handbook contain a description of the new non-tenure-eligible research appointment and policies for appointment, funding,e valuation, renewal, and advancement of non-tenure-eligible research faculty.

 

S07-27: Foreign Travel Grant Policy - The Foreign Travel Grant Program Policy wasmodified to enhance flexibility regarding financial support for faculty traveling for university-related work.
